The world feels like it’s unraveling, doesn’t it? Turn on the news, and it’s one thing after another—wars overseas, shocking healthcare scandals dominating headlines, drones buzzing in the skies, devastating fires tearing through places like Los Angeles, and the constant division over elections. Even within churches, the growing influence of culture is leaving people more confused than comforted. This can lead to mixed messages, where the lines between God’s Word and the world’s standards become blurred. If you’ve been asking, what is going on?, you’re not alone. Let’s talk about how all this fits into what the Bible says—and how Jesus offers peace in the middle of it all.

Here's a thought. What if these events aren’t just random? What if they’re part of a larger picture—a spiritual reality that the Bible warned us about thousands of years ago? What if the chaos we’re witnessing is a wake-up call, urging us to turn our focus to something eternal, to someone who can bring true peace? These moments of uncertainty could be pointing us to Jesus, the one who offers refuge, hope, and a solid foundation, even when the world feels like it’s falling apart.

Prophecies Fulfilled in Today’s Headlines

The Bible is clear: the world will experience turmoil as history moves closer to the return of Jesus. In Matthew 24, Jesus Himself described what to watch for:

"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars... For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs" —Matthew 24:6-8 (NASB 1995)

Doesn’t that sound familiar? Wars are raging, natural disasters like fires and floods are getting worse, and people seem more divided than ever. Sheesh! Even the Apostle Paul saw this coming when he warned that in the last days, people would become “lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant… ungrateful, unholy” —2 Timothy 3:2 It’s like the Bible is describing exactly what we’re living through right now.

It’s unsettling to see these prophecies unfold before our eyes, but it also reminds us that God is in control. These events are not random—they’re part of a bigger picture. Even in the chaos, His purpose is unfolding, and that gives us hope. You know what I mean? Alright, let's continue.

Where Can We Turn?

In moments like this, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, isn’t it? The fires in Los Angeles aren’t just burning through land—they’re forcing families out of their homes. Wars aren’t just about politics—they’re breaking lives apart. Healthcare. Pandemics? They’ve left deep emotional scars, from fear to isolation, that go far beyond physical health. No wonder so many are searching for answers. Where do we turn in times like these? But here’s the truth: we don’t have to face this alone. Jesus said:

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest" —Matthew 11:28 (NASB 1995)

Rest. Peace. Refuge. Jesus isn’t just giving us a way to get by—He’s offering Himself as our shelter in the storm. It’s not just about surviving the chaos; it’s about finding true peace and safety in Him, no matter what’s going on around us. The wisdom of Jesus continues to blow my mind. I get it now. It took me a long time for my heart and mind to catch up to what He’s saying here, but it’s so true. When you finally grasp it, it really does changes everything.

The Bigger Picture: Revelation and Hope

The Book of Revelation, though often seen as intimidating, is ultimately a book of hope. It reveals that Jesus is victorious, no matter how chaotic the world gets. In Revelation 6, we see the four horsemen symbolizing conquest, war, famine, and death—echoes of the very events we’re experiencing. But the story doesn’t end there. Jesus promises to wipe every tear from our eyes and make all things new.

"And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” —Revelation 21:4-5 (NASB 1995)

These promises are a reminder that this broken world isn’t our final destination. As believers, we’re looking forward to the return of Jesus and the establishment of His perfect Kingdom. Until that day comes, we are called to stand firm, trust in His plan, and share the hope we’ve found in Him.

Faith in Action: How Do We Respond?

In times like these, it’s so easy to get caught up in fear, frustration, or even anger. But Jesus calls us to something higher—faith, hope, and love. He invites us to rise above the chaos and cling to Him as our anchor. Here’s how we can stay grounded in Him:

  1. Lean Into His Word
When the news overwhelms you, let Scripture be your compass. Jesus warned us about these times, but He also promised His peace:

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you... Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful"— John 14:27

  2. Pray for the World
Instead of just watching events unfold, take them to God in prayer. Pray for the people affected by fires, wars, and division. Pray for leaders to seek wisdom. And pray for hearts to turn to Jesus.

  3. Love Your Neighbor
In a divided world, small acts of love and kindness can make a big difference. Whether it’s helping a fire victim, supporting someone struggling with illness, or simply being there for a friend, these moments reflect the love of Jesus.

  4. Stay Focused on Eternity
It’s easy to get bogged down in the chaos of today, but Revelation reminds us of the bigger picture. Jesus will return, and every wrong will be made right.

"Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done" —Revelation 22:12

The Invitation: Finding Refuge in Jesus

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by everything happening around you, Jesus is inviting you to come to Him and find refuge. He’s not some distant or far-off figure—He’s the Good Shepherd who knows your name, sees your struggles, and cares deeply about your pain. In a world that’s desperate for peace, He is the Prince of Peace, offering comfort and strength right where you are. Remember this promise:

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea" —Psalm 46:1-2

No matter what’s going on—fires, wars, pandemics, or just life hitting hard—Jesus is right there with you. He’s your solid rock when everything else feels like it’s falling apart. He’s your hope when you can’t see a way out and your peace when the chaos gets too loud. You’re not alone—He’s got you.

So, what are you going to do with this hope? Will you share it with someone who needs it? Will you turn to Jesus and let Him be your safe place? The world might be crazy, but with Jesus, you can find peace. He’s already got the victory

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." —— John 16:33 (NASB 1995)

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)

As a Disciple, it is so important for us to put on the Full Armor of GOD every day and especially before preaching the gospel. Be bold in your faith and stand tall in your armor with Truth and Grace. Paul the Apostle explains here in Ephesians 6:10-18.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Did Jesus Teach Us to Become Wealthy?  The Truth About True Riches in Christ

One of the most misunderstood aspects of Jesus’ ministry is the role of money and wealth in His teachings. Some believe that Jesus was teaching people how to prosper financially, but this interpretation misses the heart of His message. Jesus did not come to make people wealthy by worldly standards. Instead, He came to call us into a life of spiritual riches, a relationship with our Heavenly Father, and a mission to spread the Good News. True wealth, according to Jesus, is found in loving God, preaching the Gospel, and living for His kingdom.

Let’s explore what the Bible says about this topic and dispel the myth that Jesus taught financial prosperity as the ultimate goal.
