Testimonies

Real journeys from religion to relationship, showing how Jesus transforms hearts and lives.

The Big Questions

I've been raised in a different religion, why would I need Jesus?

You’re not alone. Many in the Bible met Jesus from outside the Jewish faith and followed Him, the Ethiopian official (Acts 8:27), Cornelius (Acts 10), Lydia (Acts 16), and even Paul, who left his former path (Philippians 3:5). Jesus’ invitation is for anyone who will come (John 3:16 | Mattew 11:28–30).

They needed Jesus for the same reason we do: sin separates every person from God, and only Jesus brings forgiveness, new life, and reconciliation with the Father. (Romans 3:23 | John 14:6 | Acts 4:12)

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He will bring you the peace and purpose your heart has always been looking for.

Wouldn’t following Jesus mean betraying my family and culture?

Following Jesus means putting Him first, not betraying your family or culture. It may create tension, but Jesus calls you to love and honor family while loving Him most and seeking their ultimate good, not abandoning them. (Ephesians 6:2)

What Jesus taught

  • First allegiance: “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.” (Matthew 10:37)
  • Real meaning of Luke 14:26: It’s Semitic hyperbole for preference. Christ above all, not literal hatred.
  • Still honor family: “Honor your father and mother.” (Ephesians 6:2 ) and provide for them (1 Timothy 5:8).
  • Live peaceably & respectfully: “If possible… be at peace with all men.” (Romans 12:18); give a defense “with gentleness and reverence.” (1 Peter 3:15)

How to follow Jesus without dishonor

  1. Love more, not less: Serve, listen, show patience. Let transformed character speak (Matthew 5:16).
  2. Draw the line at worship: Obey family and customs unless they make you deny Christ. “We must obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)
  3. Keep what’s good, leave what conflicts: Many cultural practices are fine; only reject those that contradict Jesus (Mark 7:8–13).
  4. Be clear and gentle: Share why you follow Jesus, not to win an argument but to love truth and them (1 Peter 3:15).

Find family in the church (your fellow believers) while honoring your own: Jesus gives a spiritual family (Mark 10:29–30) that helps you love your earthly family better.

Jesus won’t make you love your family less; He teaches you to love them rightly, with truth, patience, and sacrificial care while giving Him first place.
Aren’t all religions basically the same?

If all religions were the same, Jesus did not need to die. But He did, for you. Not to pull you into a culture, but to bring you to your Heavenly Father. He knows your questions, your story, and your wounds. He offers forgiveness, a new start, and Himself.

What makes Jesus different from prophets or leaders in other faiths?

Jesus isn’t only a teacher or prophet, He claimed divine identity, accomplished a once-for-all rescue by His death, and rose again in 3 days as prophesied. A public, historical claim that the earliest Christians staked everything on (John 8:58)

What makes Jesus different

  1. Divine claims & authority: He claimed oneness with the Father, forgave sins, and accepted worship (John 10:30 | John 20:28 | Matthew 28:17)
  2. Resurrection at the center: The gospel rests on a real event with named witnesses; if Christ isn’t raised, Christianity is empty (1 Cor 15:3–8)
  3. Grace, not a ladder: Salvation is God’s gift, not our performance (Eph 2:8–9 | Titus 3:5)
  4. Once-for-all atonement: He came “to give His life a ransom for many,” ending the cycle of sacrifice (Mark 10:45)
  5. The only Mediator: One way to the Father—yet an open invitation to all (John 14:6; Matthew 11:28)
  6. Living presence now: He gives the Holy Spirit to dwell in believers new heart, new power (John 14:16)

Christianity isn’t mainly advice to follow; it’s someone to trust, the crucified and risen Lord who brings forgiveness, a new heart, and real life with God.
